About the Event

Join us for a tour of neighboring live/work spaces on Cathedral Street in Mount Vernon. Visitors will drop in on two Baltimore merchants, each with their own unique take on “living above the shop.”    

About Tour Guide
David Wiesand, owner of McLain Wiesand is an artist and designer, attended NYU, Towson University and received his MFA in Painting from MICA. Past Board member: MVBA, Architectural review committee, Evergreen Museum and Library, Past President of Eloquent speakers Toastmasters Club. Baltimore born, his company has 9 showrooms in design centers across the country that rep his furniture line. The line includes wood and metal furniture, lighting, accessories and offers murals for public or private use. The McLain Wiesand line features products that feature inspiration from many sources, antique through modern.  

Matt Malaquias, the owner of Case[werks], has a degree in Architecture from Catholic University in Washington, DC and is a licensed Interior Designer.  A Baltimore business since 2001, Case[werks] deals in furnishings and equipment that showcase original art, historic artifacts & special collections in public settings including archival display cases, gallery fixtures, signage & display products.  Clients include various Smithsonian Institution Museums, the Baltimore Museum of Art, the Morgan Library & Museum, the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Art Institute of Chicago. As the North American agent for Vitrinen- und Glasbau REIER of Lauta, Germany, the firm is member of an elite network serving premier cultural institutions worldwide.
