About the Event
Step foot inside the historic Platt oyster cannery building–home to the Baltimore Museum of Industry for the last 40 years–on Saturday, October 2 from 9 AM – 3 PM. Tour three new exhibitions related to the rich history of steelmaking in Maryland:
- “Fire and Shadow: The Rise and Fall of Bethlehem Steel,” opening in late September
- “Women of Steel,” an award-winning outdoor exhibition along the Key Highway fence
- “SHUTTERED: Images from the Fall of Bethlehem Steel” – photographs by Baltimore-based photojournalist J. M. Giordano
Also happening on the BMI’s four-acre waterfront campus that day:
- BMI Farmers’ Market, from 9 AM – 1 PM
- COVID vaccine clinic offered through the Baltimore City Health Department, 9 AM – 1 PM
- Baltimore Children’s Business Fair, for entrepreneurs ages 6-15, from 11 AM – 2 PM
