About the Event

Take a tour of One Charles Center, the preeminent International Style office building in Baltimore. This 23-story aluminum and glass tower is the gem of Charles Center, a large-scale urban redevelopment project in central Baltimore’s downtown business district.

Designed by Ludwig Mies van der Rohe and constructed in 1962, One Charles Center was the first Modern office tower built in Baltimore following a design competition to create the “signature piece” of the redevelopment.

Learn about the history of the building and the Charles Center redevelopment—an early example of mid-century urban renewal. The newly-renovated offices of Quinn Evans Architects and BCT Architects will be featured, in addition to the glass and marble main lobby and Center Plaza.

About the Tour Guide
Sara Langmead is an architect with Quinn Evans whose offices are on the 14th floor of the building.  Bob Gehrman and Jonathan Cartwright are architects with BCT whose offices are on the 18th floor of the building.
