Carrie Murray Nature Center
1901 Ridgetop Rd, Baltimore, MD 21207
Baltimore City Recreation & Parks established the Nature Center after receiving a donation from Orioles Hall-of-Famer, Eddie Murray, in honor of his mother, Carrie Murray. It is nestled in the 1,216 acre historic Gwynns Falls Leakin Park, which is the third largest urban wilderness park in the United States. Ms. Carrie Murray’s gentle spirit and strength of character greatly influenced her twelve children. She instilled in them the importance of family, respect for Nature and a sense of responsibility, leadership, and accomplishment. Baltimore City Recreation and Parks hopes that everyone who spends time at the campus appreciates the values by which Ms. Murray lived her life. See the beauty of the park and the center’s animals!
