Information
The Greenmount West Community Center recently opened in the basement of the Baltimore Montessori School. Originally Public School 32, the building was designed by the Baltimore Inspector of Buildings, J. Theodore Oster, who also designed the matching School 33 in Federal Hill. After the school’s closing in 2001, the building served as a homeless shelter and then as a location for The Wire on HBO. The Greenmount West Community Association renovated the basement as an inclusive space for all. Visit the community center and see the Youth African Drumming and screen printing classes. The entrance is on the 200 block of East Lanvale Street.
