About

Cajou Creamery’s journey began 13 years ago when Dwight Campbell and Nicole Foster established an ice cream business at a local farmer’s market. In 2014, upon learning of their two sons’ lactose intolerance, they embarked on exploring plant-based alternatives and found in cashew milk the ideal ingredient to achieve a perfect creamy texture. In 2020, their business reached a new milestone as they secured a year-long lease for a storefront on Howard Street, allowing them to open a permanent space. Cajou Creamery remains the first and only plant-based ice cream shop in the DMV region.
